Our story

In August 2014, Brian and Angel Pietsch and their two sons, Hunter and Seth, were inspired to begin their organization when it was brought to their attention that a local shelter did not have the extra funds to celebrate a young girl named Destinee’s birthday. Thanks to the helping hands and hearts of many volunteers and supporters, Little Birthday Angels was given its wings and is now celebrating one birthday at a time for many homeless children living in our community.

Little Birthday Angels is a 501c3 nonprofit organization currently serving on the Treasure Coast of Florida.

Every homeless child deserves to feel special on “their” day. “Their” day is a gift from God that deserves to be celebrated.

What We DO

Our birthday celebrations begin with a connection with the shelters that we serve.  They share with us who is celebrating their birthday the following month, and provide us with a wish list. We thoughtfully choose gifts and essential items for the birthday gifts. It is our goal to create an environment of pure excitement and joy for these children. Some of these children have never had “their” day celebrated.
We arrive the day of the party and decorate the room from top to bottom with colorful decorations, provide games, cupcakes, goody bags, and, of course, the birthday presents. These are all the exciting aspects of a traditional party that most of us grew up
 counting down
the days till.

For homeless children not living in a shelter, we connect with the school district's homeless advocate. They share with us the name, age, gender, and  birthday.  We provide a large duffle bag, lap desk, toiletries, socks, wrapped gifts, a bible,  and other essential items for each child. Placing everything into a duffel bag gives them something to keep their personal items in, and provides privacy for them. Everything is delivered to the child by the school's homeless advocate.
